Omar Harris is a Baltimore-Raised artist born in Brooklyn, NY. Currently he pursues his BFA in Painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA.)

The work of Omar Harris centers around his connection to Tobago heritage, along with relationships between family. He's interested in how collage can serve as a metaphor for overlapping as well as merging memories both past and present.

Often referencing family photos Omar manipulates them through abstracted scans and highly filtered digital representations, reassembling them in the forms of both acrylic and digital paintings, clothing, and installations. Materials such as: astroturf, photo paper, digital painting, and dura-lar are referenced throughout the work.

His work has been featured in group exhibitions such as “A Good Guest” at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum in 2020 and “HERE!” at platform gallery in 2017.
